The General Manager, FlyOver Las Vegas (“GM FOLV” or “FOLV”) will serve as a key member of an extremely
collaborative, geographically diverse, entrepreneurial leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Operations,
FlyOver Attractions, the GM FOLV will function as the company’s business leader for FOLV in Las Vegas, providing
leadership and direction on the development, management and execution of a strong service culture that truly
differentiates FOLV from our competitors.
The GM FOLV will join the Pursuit Leadership Team as a key architect of the attraction’s future growth, working in
tight collaboration with the Director of Operations, FlyOver Attractions, VP, FlyOver Attractions, the management
and supervisor’s at FOLV, and the leaders in each of Pursuit’s support functions to our businesses (sales,
marketing, finance, rev max, technology, and people & culture.) Additionally, the GM FOLV will provide leadership
and direction to our team in Las Vegas and set the pace for memorable guest hospitality and the delivery of a
meaningful employee culture.
Together with the support of the functional leaders across Pursuit the GM FOLV will lead all business planning
activities for FOLV in Las Vegas, including recruitment, training and onboarding, the creation of a strong culture,
reporting, analysis of our business requirements, planning, budgeting, ongoing weekly management of FOLV’s
performance, up to the week reporting of results and evolving business trends in a fast-paced and growing travel
and recreation enterprise.
The GM FOLV will assure that the Director of Operations, FlyOver Attractions, other key leaders and stakeholders
are provided with accurate and timely information to provide for accountability to our shared goals and facilitate
effective decision-making across the enterprise both operationally and strategically.
The GM FOLV’s overall mandate is to provide leadership and direction to the teams within FOLV in Las Vegas, but
may be invited to provide general input as growth strategies are developed for the overall FlyOver brand. The GM
FOLV may also participate on teams evaluating existing and potential new business opportunities related to FOLV
in Las Vegas.
The GM FOLV will participate broadly in strategic, operational, and financial discussions with the Pursuit Senior
Leadership Team, FlyOver Attractions leaders and other GM’s in the field.
/ Establish strong, partner-like relationships with Pursuit’s senior leadership team, based on deep cultural
acumen and knowledge of the company’s talent, operating business, strategy, plans and performance.
Anticipate key issues and informational needs and be prepared to discuss ongoing performance and key
projects that will enhance shareholder value while making FOLV better.
/ Become deeply ingrained in the operations of FOLV with focus on the constant improvement of the FOLV
experience. Assist other members of senior management across Pursuit evaluating opportunities to grow
the business, performance culture and creating strategic value.
/ Assess ongoing FOLV organizational model and staffing plans to determine an optimal structure.
Continually review available talent in the Las Vegas area, working closely with the Pursuit VP People &
Culture to hire the right skills for the current and future business. Provide leadership and coaching that
fosters an environment of problem solving, accuracy and speed, alignment around our vision, mission and
values; improved business practices and the attraction and retention of great talent.
/ Manage and deliver a disciplined and systematic reporting and planning process for FOLV in Las Vegas.
Utilize the existing Fly Over integrated framework that uses metrics that measure, assess and benchmark
performance and analyze operating trends against clearly defined targets used in the budgeting and
annual planning process. Establish proactive internal monitoring systems that create accountability,
identify risks and opportunities and develop contingency plans. Speed up reporting to provide accurate
and timely information to the field that heightens their ability to both anticipate and react within a
seasonal business cycle.
/ Develop long-term relationships and credibility with key internal and external constituencies important to
the Director of Operaions/VP, FlyOver Attractions, Pursuit and local strategic business partners in travel &
tourism in Las Vegas and surrounding Canada areas.
/ Ensure the integrity of all Pursuit and FOLV business initiatives including the Always Honest program,
effective controls, compliant processes, compensation plans, and any team incentives.
/ A minimum of 5 years of senior level management experience in the tourism industry, preferably
including time worked in a resort, travel, theater, attraction, or recreation company.
/ Required to be fluent reading, speaking and writing in the English language. Ability to speak other
languages would be considered an asset.
/ Experience in the creation and delivery of a strong and inclusive internal hospitality culture.
/ Experience building relationships and working on teams across all levels of an organization and the Las
Vegas tour and travel industry.
/ Experience leading and managing teams of staff at various levels, with an ability to attract qualified talent
and develop people for future growth.
/ Experience in the use of information technology as it applies to sales, marketing, and ticketing delivery,
including knowledge of distribution channels in the tour and travel business.
/ Willingness and ability to live in or relocate to Las Vegas, NV, including eligibility to work legally in the
U.S., and ability to travel both domestically and internationally; Must hold a valid driver’s license and
